Community Center Building Program

Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church was founded in 2003 under the ministry of Archbishop DMITRI of Dallas, Texas of the Orthodox Church in America. The parish remains as it began, an American Orthodox community benefitting from the lovely customs and traditions of its many ethnicities. The parish has a rigorous liturgical and Orthodox educational life under the guidance of Father Ambrose Arrington.

In its infancy, the parish held services in the homes of its adherents. Within a few months the parish located to a storefront on South Lewis Avenue and resided there for four years. In September 2007 the parish moved to land purchased in south Tulsa County; holding its first service in the chapel dedicated to Saint Matthew the Evangelist on September 15th. Utilizing a modular building for classrooms and gatherings, the parish continued to grow with new members regularly joining the community.

In November 2010, the parish completed one of its long-term goals with the construction of a rectory on church property for Father Ambrose and his family. With parish growth continuing, in 2015 the chapel was expanded doubling congregation, choir, and reader space. During 2016 a rented mobile building was added for much-needed classroom space.

Today the parish finds itself at another stage in its development. The blessing of new members and an abundance of children requires the parish to construct a new multiuse facility for church fellowship and education. While the existing modular building will be improved cosmetically for future use, the necessity of a new community center is critical for the parish.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has blessed the Holy Apostles parish with great abundance. For those who have visited our parish, and for those who call Holy Apostles home, it is forever apparent that Christ’s warmth and His welcoming love is our foundation. As we embark on the next path in our journey we take great comfort in knowing His presence will escort us.

With this in our hearts and minds, we humbly ask for your support in our latest endeavor.

With humility and love for Christ,
The Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church Fundraising Committee
