Last year, we were most blessed to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Holy Apostles Orthodox Christian Church here in Bixby, Oklahoma.  From our humble origins as a store-front mission in 2003 with the blessing of our beloved Archbishop Dmitri to the construction of our St. Matthew’s Chapel in 2007 and our 10^th anniversary in 2013, we have experienced God’s grace and witnessed the work of the Holy Spirit in bringing many people from different backgrounds to the one, true and holy Orthodox Christian faith. Our parish has grown from a small core of faithful members to an average attendance of over 85 people at Divine Liturgy on Sunday.  Our St. Matthew’s Chapel was originally designed to comfortably accommodate only about 80 people, and as we have experienced this welcomed growth in membership over the past few years, it has become increasingly clear that we must expand our chapel to have adequate worship space and to accommodate new members.  We have now begun this exciting process! Our chapel expansion plans involve enlarging the nave as well as the now-crowded choir and readers section. We also plan to increase the size of the narthex to have room for nursing mothers, small children and some much needed storage space.

We need you now to prayerfully consider making a donation toward our chapel expansion project. We would like to see 100% participation of all of our parish families.  We need to raise a total of $120,000 over the course of this year so that we can begin construction on our chapel during the first quarter of 2015.  We know that some of you are living on a tight budget, but ask that you prayerfully consider making a donation, no matter how small. For those of you whom God has blessed financially, we ask that you also prayerfully consider making a tax-deductible donation that can truly help us continue God’s work here on earth.
